Rosacea is usually a condition in which you experience redness, bumps and blemishes on the face and neck. It generally affects people in their middle age, who have a fair skin. Some people confuse it with acne, but it’s a lot more than that. The skin looks flushed most of the times, and is aggravated by spicy food, sun etc. Medications can control the effects of rosacea, but it doesn’t go completely in case the condition is bad. If not taken care on time, it might worsen over time.
Rosacea can be effectively treated using Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). IPL uses controlled light in specific wavelengths to alleviate the inflammation, redness, pimples and uneven skin tones caused by the condition. IPL offers a gentle, long-lasting solution for those suffering from Rosacea by providing a gradual and natural improvement to the skin’s appearance. The IPL procedure removes facial superficial vessels and as a result dramatically decreases or completely eliminates facial redness. The vascular components of Rosacea can vary from flushing to telangiectasia and can have different densities and depths.
When you get the treatment done for Rosacea, local anesthesia is given to numb the skin. There are times ice pack is also applied for approximately 30 minutes before the treatment. The amount of anesthesia depends on the area on which the treatment is needed. The recovery time too, depends on the area to be treated. In case of inflammation, you might need some medication in order to eliminate of the swelling. After you get the treatment done, you must stay away from the sun for a while, and take extreme care of your skin.
At ISAAC, we check the condition of your skin in the consultation session, and then provide you possible treatment options. In case medications can work for you, we carry on with it, or plan for the laser/surgical treatment of the same.
